Meet Oreo! He is the shyest goat we have at the farm but his favorite companion is Ivy and they seem to enjoy each other’s company. Oreo is a fainting goat. Fainting goats have a genetic disease that causes their muscles to paralyze when they are in a panic but their mind does not stop which means that they cannot move but are still very fearful. This is very harmful and scary to them which is why we advocate for not breeding fainting goats. We treat Oreo with a lot of caution to avoid scaring him so that he does not have to experience this debilitating condition.
