Summer Camp Learn and make friends
Farmer Frog 2018 Summer Camps – Week’s 1-9 @ Bellevue Garden & Woodinville’s Paradise Farm
What are seeds and what are weeds? What is soil? Which plants are good to plant together and what role do insects, worms, fungi, and bacteria have in the garden? Can a garden be an art medium and a stage?
Join Farmer Frog for one or several weeks of Summer Camp. Create art for your home and garden with materials you find in a garden. Learn about plants, birds and bugs. Design a small food garden and learn when and how to harvest. Make rain barrels to collect water, and sell produce at a farmers market. Each week, as with the growing season, is something new to learn and enjoy.
Camp participants are eligible to become Garden Warriors the following season by heading up food gardening projects at their schools or at other Farmer Frog locations. They can return to school in the fall as student leaders who understand what the weather and the seasons mean for the garden and know the difference between GMO, hybrid, cloned, and heirloom. But most importantly, the skills and confidence to help lead garden growth.
