Urban Farmer Educator
Maybin Chisebuka is our urban farmer educator at Bellevue Lake Hills Farm. Maybin “the Kale Man” is inspired by nature and has been an urban farmer for over 30 years. He believes that a closer look at nature provides a closer look at solutions. Maybin is the founder of the Zambia Ecointensive Project, which is a permaculture-based small-scale farming project.
When he’s not on the farm or helping his neighbors and friends with gardening, Maybin works as a lighting specialist with the American Lighting Association. He also enjoys writing, and does other creative things such as crafts. Maybin published a children’s book in 2014: Ants Go Shopping: The Ant Who Spoke the Human Language. Maybin says, “I use silliness to bring out the beautiful human in all of us.”
